Masquerade Ball, Fall 2012

This is me, ready to go to the Masquerade Ball! It was really a great night. First off, I was excited to wear my mask that was made in Venice and that I bought in Paris! The only thing is that there is now makeup on the back of it that won't seem to come off. That's ok though, because at least now it's been used. 

I was also excited to dance, just because it's ballroom dancing. There was a live band playing big band stuff and some classics like Frank Sinatra and "Sway". They were really good and played just about every type of song that you can ballroom dance to. I had fun hanging out with my ballroom buddies even when I wasn't dancing. 

The event had punch, live music, fun costumes, and a raffle. I had 27 tickets entered so I'm glad I won something. I would've been mad otherwise haha! I won something really neat but I'm not going to say what on here because I think I might use it as a Christmas present for someone in my family.

The only bad part about the night was that the ball is an annual thing. Sigh. It really should be monthly. Or even bimonthly. I now have to wait a year before I can wear my mask again. 

 

Competition in Madison, Wisconsin

Yesterday I had my first competition in Ballroom Dance! It was super fun. I danced American smooth and rhythm and International smooth and Latin. I got called back once for newcomer semifinals, which was awesome seeing how I've only been doing this since September (and I only had 45 minutes of sleep the previous day). All of my fellow ballroom dancers are super nice and we bonded a lot over this trip. I can't wait to hang out with them again!
